The 21 MW Chaba Wind Farm is located on the East and West side of the N2 near to Komga in the Great Kei Municipality.

Owner: Chaba Wind Power (RF) (Pty) Ltd
Investors: EDF Renewables, Industrial Development Corporation and Chaba Winds of Change BBBEE Co.
Energy Offtaker: Eskom (Single Buyer Office)
EPC/O&M contractor: Vestas Southern Africa
Construction period: Approx. 18 months (March 2014 – September 2015)
Commercial operations: September 2015
No. of turbines: 7 x Vestas V112 – 3 MW turbines
Installed Capacity: 21 MW

Under the Grassroots Youth Development (GYD) Programme, the Chaba Wind Farm contributes up to 2.1 % of its revenues towards Socio-Economic and Enterprise Development initiatives that are located within a 50 km radius to the wind facility.
